The Halal MealShare Program
Hot, halal meals served with dignity every Saturday and Sunday. Because no neighbor should go hungry in the borough we call home.
Our Commetment
Food is a right, not a privilege
In Brooklyn’s most diverse neighborhoods — Flatbush, Midwood, Kensington, and beyond — many families and individuals face food insecurity daily. Immigrant households, newly arrived asylum seekers, seniors on fixed incomes, and low-income families often struggle to put a warm meal on the table.
Brooklyn Emerge’s Halal MealShare Program was built to fill that gap. Every weekend, our volunteers come together to prepare and distribute free hot meals that are fully halal-certified — honoring the dietary needs and faith of our predominantly Muslim community. No paperwork. No judgment. Just food, prepared with care, shared with love.

What we serve
Meals made with care
Our kitchen volunteers prepare freshly cooked hot meals every weekend. All food is prepared in strict accordance with halal standards, ensuring that our Muslim neighbors can eat with confidence and comfort.
- Every meal include
- A hot, freshly prepared main course
- 100% halal-certified ingredients and preparation
- A warm welcome from our volunteer team
- Nutritious, balanced portions
We also periodically distribute fresh groceries, pantry staples, and produce through our food pantry events — helping families stretch further between weekends. Thousands of pounds of groceries have been distributed to Brooklyn families this year alone.
Who we serve
Our neighbors, our community
“We believe everyone deserves access to fresh, nutritious food. By partnering with local volunteers and donors, we’ve been able to distribute thousands of pounds of groceries this year.”
